The Ultimate Success Plan – Masterminding with Confidants

The journey to the top of your game, no matter what industry you’re in, can be a very lonely one, especially if you are a solopreneur or an entrepreneur. Sometimes, it will seem like nobody really understands you, from the professional challenges you face to the personal and social sacrifices that are sometimes involved with such a heavy time commitment as running your own business.

So as you climb the ladder, it’s exceptionally important to build your personal network of support and confidants.  “Confidants”.  Interesting word, right?  Webster’s Dictionary describes “confidant” as “one to whom secrets are confided”.  I can tell you from my years of Mastermind experience that one of the toughest issues that holds people back from progress is not having anyone to talk to.  And I mean really talk to.

Confidants can help you in a number of ways. People that you meet in High Stakes Mastermind groups, for example, understand what challenges you’re facing, because they’re in the same positions and know those challenges to be true. Over time relationships and trust builds, which allow for the sharing of ideas, solutions and strategies. Confidants willingly share advice with you that worked in similar situations for them.

Confidants are important for every business person, but are even more important when you’re self-employed. This is because for much of the time, you’re likely working independently, or with your staff, without the aid of a corporate headquarters. Often, this means that you have no peers to bounce ideas for solutions and strategies off of. Those you are working with are often not on the same level.

Mastermind group members are often in other lines of work, and they can become true confidants with nothing to gain from your industry secrets.

One final promise for having confidants in a Mastermind group: that it’s an especially good idea to have confidants who are as successful and trained as you are, or even more so, to discuss ideas and strategies with – and to help you discover solutions to problems unique to your business.

We know confidentiality is so important our members sign a promissory agreement. But fear not, you’ll still see the evidence of it – in their success.

How Mastermind Groups Help You Solve Business Problems

How Mastermind Groups Help You Solve Business Problems

As you climb the corporate ladder, you’re also climbing a triangle to the peak. The higher up you get, the fewer people there are at the top. When things are running smoothly, all is well. Things just tick along as they normally do. But how about when you run into a problem? Then there are fewer people to share ideas with. That’s how Mastermind Groups help you solve business problems

It gets even stickier when you are self-employed – you have no corporate headquarters to rely on for advice, and you have no peers in senior management to bounce ideas off of and to ask advice from.

Welcome to the world of High Stakes positions. Sometimes, it may feel like you are operating in isolation. But it doesn’t have to feel that way.

When you’re at the top, joining a Mastermind Group is recommended. When you’re part of a group, you’re instantly surrounded by peers who think big and act on their ideas, just like you. Let’s face it – when you’re at the top, it can be lonely. You’re working with people on the ground level – and while those people are useful cogs that are part of the machine and are needed to get the job done, they won’t help you to get ahead. They won’t give you ideas or solutions to the business problems your company is facing. They are looking to get ahead for themselves, to earn a paycheck, and to survive from day to day.

Realistically speaking, you are operating on a whole other level. In order to grow, you need to surround yourself with people who are smarter and more successful than you – that’s what will help you get ahead. They are vested in helping you to solve business problems.  Why?  Three reasons; 1. Because that’s one of the cornerstone reasons High Stakes was founded on, 2. When you succeed all members succeed, and 3. Your Mastermind partners know that you will do the same for them.  Win, win, win.

The question to ask yourself is, “Am I committed to my own goal achievement?”  If the answer is yes, read on.

High Stakes Mastermind Groups are made up of some of the smartest, strongest, and best thinkers and leaders in your industries. These people will help you to achieve your specific goals, come up with thoughtful, useful and timely information, teach you best practices and lead you to success. Ultimately, the members of these groups will add value to your life, and to the lives and careers of our group members.

These people didn’t get to be tops in their executive roles for no reason. They have much to contribute. Imagine if you had them act as each other’s allies, colleagues and collaborators? These people will give you ideas for solving problems in your business, energize you and give you the momentum to reach your goals, whatever they are. They will improve your communications skills, introduce you to other people and to new ideas and methods you can apply to your company.

If you consider yourself to be a High Stakes thinker, surround yourself with like people. After all, you become who you associate with. And it’s these people who will understand your issues, support you, provide you with ideas for solutions, help you with brainstorming, and challenge you to become a better version of yourself.

9 Indispensable Compounds in Vitamin HSMmG™

“Humans need enough food to live and the right assortment of foods for optimal health. In the best of all worlds, the need for food is combined with the condition food security.” (Nutrition Now, Judith E. Brown 1995)

The book goes on to say that people with food security have access at all times to a sufficient supply of safe nutritious food and they’re able to acquire foods in socially acceptable ways. For example, without having to scavenge, or steal for their food.

Most of us know that you have to have a nutritionally balanced diet to be health. In other words if you ate the same exact thing every day it might be nutritious food, on its own, but if it’s all you ever eat eventually you will be malnourished. You need a good balanced diet rich in a variety of vitamins to thrive and be healthy.

Now why am I talking to you about vitamins when this is a Mastermind blog?  That’s when Vitamin HSMmG™ becomes so vitally important. Vitamin HSMmG, or High Stakes Mastermind™ Group is a vitamin that you need to make your business nutritionally sound; to thrive and survive and be healthy.  In the mastermind I’ve started our commitment to you is that you’ll gain:

  1. Increased confidence
There is something magical that develops in people when they become part of a community. It an intrinsic need of human beings plucked right from the Esteem level of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.
  1. A sense of community
See the above paragraph.  At High Stakes Mastermind™ the sense of community is the theme we’re based on – and ensuring every member masters their goals.
  1. Problem-solving sessions
Most people are so self-conscious about struggles with business decisions, directions choices, admitting mistakes, or testing new ideas, that they close up and don’t reach out.  Having a group of confidants designed to help you through all of that is a time and stress saver of invaluable proportions.
  1. Goal achievement curriculum
We’re partnered with Les Taylor’s Outperformers International to bring our members an optional added curriculum to accelerate their success.  This is in addition to the HSMmG system.
  1. Solutions and ideas from brainstorming
Two really cool things have been observed: 1) really great ideas and solutions are offered by group members; something the person deliberating over an issue never     thought of or knew about, and 2) Socratic questioning has an amazing ability to create “light-bulb” and “ah ha” moments and members suddenly realize they know what to do and how to do it!
  2. An instant and valuable support network
The very culture fostered in these groups is one of support and positivity.  No one will ever embarrass another person for their mistakes, or for having a bad day.
  1. A trusted network of others who “have your back”
When one of us succeeds we all succeed.  It doesn’t get any better than that. We aren’t “fair-whether friends”.  I won’t allow it.
  1. Insights from the experience and skills of others
Since our members are closely vetted for mastermind intellect, skill-set, experience and commitment, in the first place, they are equally surrounded by others with the same high standards but from diverse industries and background.  The refreshing input gleaned from that is powerful.
  2. Accountability and real progress in your business
There’s an old saying that ‘if you don’t know where you’re going you won’t know how to get there.’  In our mastermind meetings we start with pealing back the layers and getting right to specific details. You have goals? We’ll help you master them.

Mastermind groups are as diverse as the people who run them.  There are groups of various themes, durations, and methods.  That’s really good.  There’s something for everyone out there.  You just have to ask yourself what you want for an end result. And if you’re feeling unfulfilled – try some Vitamin HSMmG™.

What Will You Do?

decision

When people are contemplating whether to join a Mastermind group they are really balancing – even justifying, how much value it is to them.

You know we all have pressures on our schedules, and determining where to spend our time is a huge consideration. We might have financial restrictions as well. I get it – there is no shortage of people trying to “sell” you something.  When it’s something you lose out from by NOT investing – that’s golden!

If you’re thinking about joining a Mastermind group, you have to look at what’s the value you’re going to get from it. This is one thing I feel very passionate and very strongly about; in the High Stakes Mastermind™ group we help people make decisions they could be grappling with, and we help them get results from their goals.  My belief is that you never stop learning. In fact, if you’re trying to start, run or maintain a business we help you get better and stronger – faster! We hold you accountable to your goals. There’s there is no substitute for voicing your thoughts and concerns out loud and talking about the steps that you have to do accomplish in order to master your ambitions.

In the High Stakes Mastermind groups were going to ask you very strategic, pointed and sometimes difficult questions.  That’s a great exercise for you because of you can’t answer those questions to us how will you answer the same questions for your clients?

When you work with us it’s the safe place to make mistakes. It’s a place to learn and a place to grow. It’s a place to feel your way around and it’s a place to find guidance.

That way when you’re in front of your clients, whether it’s a 1 on 1 meeting, a group meeting, or something you put on paper in brochures, blogs or any other type of marketing; your message will come out clearer, stronger and more articulately than it would without the power or the Mastermind behind you.

On the pragmatic side, as your Mastermind chair you benefit from my 30 years of Human Resource experience and leadership and my 16 years of being a consultant to organizations where I led them through very, very difficult situations.

In addition, I’m an ongoing student of Karyn Greenstreet’s Success Alliance. That’s where I continue to invest my own time and money so that I can bring keener skills and expertise to you. This ensures a first-rate investment of your time and money.  It’s my commitment to you – at High Stakes Mastermind™ groups we help people master their goals.
